Matt GramataMetronome online provides users with free access to a metronome for performance practice. This is a site I use a lot with my students. The metronome is a facilitator for developing technique, especially with a musical instrument or voice. Users can adjust tempos in order to practice passage at various speeds.

Heather CorkeThis website provides not only a free metronome for students to use, but also articles that students can review about practicing in general, and different tips on keeping up temp and how to use a metronome. One of the links talks all about different tempo markings and what they mean, and that would be great for a students who has a marking in their music and they might not know what it means. They could take a look at this website and get a little help. There is also a great activity listed under "its all about timing" to help students understand if they rush or drag, and listen to themselves doing it as they record themselves and then listen to how they fit in with the metronome. This is a great activity for students to listen and analyze themselves.

Sarah AmbroseThe online metronome is useful for teachers who have a projector or interactive whiteboard in their classroom, particularly when teaching lessons or performing ensembles. It could also come in handy when general music students are learning about tempo and time signature. The website also includes links to other classroom resources like games.
