Haron HousmanThis site contains a variety of pre-made collections of digital images, text, video and music that is centered on a particular theme within several content areas. The purpose is to provide students, primarily in the younger grades, a way in which to learn to build a digital story. The premise is that the kits provided are a stepping-stone for students to learn how to incorporate several types of media into a presentation to demonstrate their mastery of content. The students will begin to discover and create their own sources resulting in progressing to designing original projects. The contents within their kits (summary and digital media) are limited which seems to be more appropriate for elementary-age rather than middle or high school age students, although they indicate their kits apply to older students. The kits allow the teacher to save time in searching images and show students how to create a presentation and plan it in a storyboard. This is a free resource from the Orange County, California Board of Education.
