This is an old article I found again making a then and now comparison. This article was criticized by both <a href="http://www.marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2007/11/paul-samuelson.html" _fcksavedurl="http://www.marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2007/11/paul-samuelson.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Tyler Cowen </a>and <a href="http://www.marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2007/11/piling-on-samue.html" _fcksavedurl="http://www.marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2007/11/piling-on-samue.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Alex Tabarrok </a>of Marginal Revolution. The article points to some fundamental structural problems with our economic policies and the fact the banks have now gone bankrupt does not mean Samulson is necessarily right but<br>it does give one something to think about.
