When students highlight text, it is added to their list of bookmarks at Diigo. Later, if their quote is unclear, they can follow the link back to the original source. Re-reading the original may remind them of their original purpose in creating the highlight.
-
Highlights and bookmarks on Diigo can be sorted and viewed by source, suggested tags, or those created by the student.
-
students working on a presentation in small groups, they can create their own group in Diigo and share it with you
-
For short passages, you can highlight just the important passage. For longer pieces, you can highlight a “Start” and a “Stop” point.
-
Add Sticky NoteAn addition to the above practice is to add a sticky note comment in the text, directing students to “Stop and Discuss”, responding to a prompt you include in the note.
-
-
The only pre-requisite is that the text be in an html format
-
Add Sticky NoteNow, within the safety of Blackboard, students can open the html document and highlight, tag and comment the text. In order for this to work, it must be in txt or html and it must open in a new tab or window.
