The Guinness World Records is an online almanac that provides up-to-date facts, statistics, achievements and world breaking records. This website does promote that the odder it is the better and it is promoting their books. All links are to information within the website and there is no listed bibliography. The site is on the DMOZ and gives favorable reviews for kids to use. The website was updated as of this year and all links are working. There is no author listed on the website and I was unable to find this. It only showed the editor for the books. This website is about on a 4th grade reading level. Kids would love the pictures alone. There are no ads on the site.
This is an interesting website with lots of pictures and videos of world record breakers. Also provides information about how to go about setting your own records.
I would use this website to discuss how verifying information is an important research skill. You must learn to document their sources and confirm information by using a variety of media. This website is an example of an online reference resource, almanacs. -

Amber PociaskThis website would be a lot of fun for children to explore. They can learn about interesting things that happen in the world. It could be educational, but mainly just for fun.
