Google Lit Trips introduces a new way of teaching literature using Google Earth. On this site, you can see all sorts of sample lit trips that educators have taken with their students using books for all age groups and reading levels. On the top, you can click which grade level you are looking for, and a list of possible lit trips will come up. In addition, it will help you get started in creating your own lit trip by offering step-by-step directions and tutorials.
Read great literature then travel in modern day via google earth to visit the place in which the book took place. Great for literature circles.

Where in the world did that story take place? Find out, with Google Lit Trips developed by (Apple Distinguished Educator) Jerome Burg. Literary Landmarks and Authors' Homes are available, along with tours for selected stories on novel settings and events, placing the story into context. You will need to download Google Earth (available at the 2nd link below) in order to access the Lit Trips. Access all titles available for all grade levels at the 3rd link.
