As the first Director of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation), Sir Julian Sorell Huxley (1887-1975) wrote a paper entitled UNESCO Its Purpose and Its Philosophy (1946) [1] in which he outlined his vision for the newly created international organization (which grew out of the League of Nations' Institute of Intellectual Co-operation). According to Huxley, the guiding philosophy of UNESCO should be what he termed, World Evolutionary Humanism. The following article describes this philosophy and its relation to eugenics.
Julian Huxley, an evolutionary biologist, humanist, and ardent internationalist held many titles including: Secretary of the Zoological Society of London (1935-42), first president of the British Humanist Association (1963), Vice-President (1937-44) and President (1959-62) of the British Eugenics Society. He was also a founding member of the World Wild Life Fund, coined the term "trans-humanism" (as a means of disguising eugenics) and gave two Galton memorial lectures (1936, 1962). Huxley also received many awards including the Darwin Medal of the Royal Society (1956), UNESCO's Kalinga Prize (1953) and the Special Award of the Lasker Foundation in the category Planned Parenthood - World Population (1959) to name but a few. He is also the Grandson of Thomas Huxley (Darwin's Bulldog) and brother of author Aldous Huxley.

The members of the EC were fine until I got to the recommendations. Then I lost them (at least that’s when I think I lost them). The problem was that I’ve been working with Dr. Michelle Young, UCEA’s Executive Director, and she gets what we’re trying to do. But the EC hasn’t heard from me in a while and to them I might as well have been speaking in tongues. As a group, their level of technology understanding was much lower than Michelle’s, perhaps because I’ve been answering her questions as we’ve gone along.

这周本来约好了秋水和长云一起小范围聚聚聊下最近的工作心得，结果刚好在外面出差没有能够赶的回来，现在这种小范围的交流对我来说太重要了，一方面是沟通交流思想，一方面是舒缓自我，特别是我最近也在持续使用OutLook+OneNote，也很喜欢和长云交流下使用的情况。
最近确实是很忙，而心亡为忙，越忙的时候思考的时间越少，或者说思考的深入度越低。一个是忙的时候关注的事情太多，很难真正做到专注；一方面是忙的时候自我学习时间被挤压掉了，很难真正的结合实践去做积累。
很多时候我们在讲忙而不乱，也在讲可以借助GTD方面的工具来清空头脑和减少忙乱。但是出现忙乱是一个质变的过程，质变是通过的量变的积累，即可能是前期大量没有做好的小事件的一个积累，表现到最好可能就是忙乱。用时间管理的话说就是以及走在了时间的后面，转变为一种救火状态。用项目管理的语言就是大量前期没有识别或重视的风险最终转换为了问题。所以我们将应当忙乱的重点是抓住重点，循序渐进的过程。不要想着一两天就能够纠正过来，而是要留出时间，梳理时间，在各个击破。
个人自我管理的重点是要管理好自己，实现自我规划，创造自我价值。所以专业态度和职业精神是个人自我管理的基础，个人价值观不能背离这个重要的约束。其次要实现自我价值又包括两个方面的重要内容，其一是你要懂得你如何的一步一步的通过积累去实现自我价值，你的目标要分解，你做事要做好规划体现计划性，这个就涉及到个人的目标管理，GTD和时间管理等重要内容；其二是你要有能力来实现价值，即你说学习的东西，你工作的技能能够转化为最终的价值并得到认可，而这个最重要的就是个人知识管理的内容，是要应用知识创造价值，通俗点则是分析和解决问题的能力和科学思维能力。
个人自我管理体现在工作上就是要清楚自我的岗位职责，我的工作内容是什么？我的工作输入是什么？我的工作输出是什么？他人或公司是如何衡量我的工作成果的？我是向谁汇报工作？我为了做好我的工作需要具备和学习哪些知识技能。当我们去思考这些问题的时候才谈得上个人自我管理，因为个人自我管理重点就是要让被动的工作转化为主动的工作，并由主动工作推动的主动学习和持续学习。
伟大的人不是管理别人，而是管理自己。而管理自我最大的困难和挑战不仅仅来自于自我的约束和纪律，更重要的是来自于外在环境的适应。人不是一个孤立的个体，很多时候需要考虑的是外在的环境，考虑一个群体和团队。因此自我管理并不是去夸大自我，而是要跳出自我，占在团队的角度来管理自我，自我的重点是自律和慎独，而不是自我观点的一意孤行。
认识自己，管理自己，认识他人，管理他人。没有自我管理就谈不上任何的管理他人。

While Mr. Li is a member of President Hu’s faction of “Youth Leaguers,” Mr. Xi is a member of former President Jiang Zemin’s “Shanghai Clique.” As Cheng Li of the Brookings Institute points out, there is a big difference between the two factions. The Youth Leaguers are more concerned about the growing inequities between the rich and poor in China and providing a better social safety net for those areas of China negatively impacted by its quick economic rise. The Shanghai Clique on the other hand stresses economic development, high GDP, and continuing China’s integration into the world economy. Currently, the CCP leadership is evenly split between the two factions.

The appropriate response to that problem is not to take away the freedom of non-free riders. The ‘Altar’ was created by combining various shepherd hooks full of fall wildflowers, dahlias and mums. The aisle was a blanket of an artistic blend of colorful wildflower petals, leaves and some whole flowers. The cocktail hour was complete with estate made wines, games of horseshoes and a local bluegrass ensemble.
