    • "...God so loved..." "so" can be read as "God SO loved" meaning He loved the world to such a great degree or with such great desire, or it can be read as God loved the world [in such as way as - so]. The second reading puts the emphases on the next phrase which is about who Christ is and what He did, rather than the first reading that could be understood to be emphasizing the loveliness of the world.
