        Concurrent use of both Diigolet and Diigo Toolbar could increase the requirement/frequency of loading data from servers.

        I tend to agree that bloat is unnecessary, especially when an alternative is easy and less space-consuming.
        
        However: some users are unwilling or undready to use a combination of features unless that combination is presented as (say) a dedicated button/menu on a service-oriented toolbar.
        
        In this case, people's readiness to change is probably decreased by over-familiarity with a past feature.
    • I'm pretty sure that JavaScript modification of at least the innerHTML object property has been supported
    • annotations should be transferred to the new URL

        A fundamental problem with this: to Diigo groups, and to the public, the perception will probably be that annotations have been lost (not copied then removed).
        
        Unless you leave direction from the old location of your annotations, to the new, users will lose sight of such content.
        
        I understand the wish, and on rare occasions I have wished to change the URL of a bookmark, but all things considered: this is not a critical issue. Certainly not a show-stopper.
        
        A simple workaround: add, to your bookmark, an upfront reference to the alternative URL.
