CygwinのようなAPIレベルでのPC-U*NIX環境をWindows上に構築する試みと違い、バイナリ環境をWindowsの世界の中に構築できます、それは、VMwareやVirtualPCのような仮想PCに近い感覚でWindows上でLinux環境を整える事が可能となります。
