Summary
I posted the survey on Facebook and received 24 responses. I choose that audience because the people I correspond with through social media are from a wide range of demographics and political beliefs. I wanted honest data. The results from my survey had some surprises and some that met my expectations. The open-ended question 10: How do you feel about gender discrimination? I received some very passionate answers which means to me that discrimination is alive and well in everyone’s eyes that responded. A couple of the responses had some good information attached to them which I may use in my paper. I feel that the survey can back up information in my secondary research when it comes to the patriarchal society, we still live in. That sexism and gender discrimination in the workplace are real things that the government needs to help out when it comes to regulating the disparities in wages.

This data comes from real people's views and beliefs. All of the CRAAP criteria is relevant throughout. -

This was a survey conducted on Facebook. The survey was anonymous and I had a total of 39 participants. Some of the most crucial questions I asked were 'The United Nations has officially stated that healthcare is a basic human right, do you agree?,' 'On a scale of 1-5, how would you rank the current healthcare system in the US?,' and 'On a scale of 1-5, how much interest would you have in seeing the US explore options regarding the implementation of a Universal Healthcare system?' For the basic human right question, a surprising 38 out of 39 people agreed. With the US healthcare score of 1-5 question, nobody ranked it 5(excellent) or 4. 11 People ranked it 3, 16 ranked it 2, and 12 ranked it 1, or very poor. With the interest in seeing the US implement Universal Healthcare 1-5 rank, 25 people ranked 5 or Very interested, 8 people ranked 4, 1 person ranked 3, 1 person ranked 2, and 4 people ranked 1 or no interest. I also asked how much money people are paying out of pocket annually for health related expenses after insurance premiums, and 69.2% are paying more that $500 annually. This survey was conducted in May of 2019, so it is very current. The survey will help my paper as it gives me great numbers on people's demands for change in our healthcare system. -

abrindle205According to a survey I gave to 32 people, there are many similar and differing opinions concerning education and some were somewhat surprising. Out of the 32 people I surveyed, 30 went to or are currently going through public schooling and about ⅔ of the group had school materials that were in excellent or good condition. Surprisingly, 93.5% of participants believed that many schools in the United States are underfunded even though many of them had schools with good quality materials. I was also surprised by how many standardized tests a lot of the participants have taken throughout just their high school years, 4 of them having 7 or more tests! This reflected in the question asking them if they agreed or disagreed with the statement that schools administer too many standardized tests, 26 of the participants agreed with the statement. I asked the participants if there was a country with a school system that had better achievement than the United States if the United States should replicate their system, and a vast majority said yes (28). Overall, the participants rated the United States school system as at and below average with very few saying that it was absolutely terrible and that it was amazing. This source is credible because the survey was taken recently since it was passed out on the 7th of May, 2019. This article is going in my paper to support my claim at the beginning of the essay.

This is credible because it is a primary source, a survey created, given, and analysed by the author, Hokenson. The survey was given and analyzed May of 2019. I will use the survey information towards the beginning of my research paper to support my claim.
Hokenson created a survey with her claim in mind. She surveyed 20 people, both female and male of various ages, 21 to 76. She asked questions about the Amazon rainforest, what deforestation affects, and in what way they had heard or learned about deforestation. These questions seemed to help Hokenson see what the people knew at this time about the concept deforestation. Rainforest Alliance is a non-profit organization committed to creating a world where companies, farmers, foresters, communities and consumers work to help people thrive together. Hokenson created 2 pie charts and a bar graph showing her data in percentages. 85% of those surveyed would donate money to help prevent deforestation. She also found that 70% of these people heard about deforestation from class or school but she mentioned that hearing about it that way seemed like it was a while ago in their lives so Hokenson wants to find a way to get the word out in different ways than just class or school as the predominant way. -
