Regardless of the subject you teach, Google Classroom is a fantastic tool for teachers who wish to create a paperless classroom environment that allows the teacher to have instant access to student work, and manage every aspect of the classroom workflow digitally.
-
The true power of Google Classroom lies in the fact that it weaves together Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, and Drive to eliminate the need for hard copies. This allows teachers to:
• Create a document, a spreadsheet, a presentation, or a form
• Distribute this assignment to students
• Customize due dates, organization of content, and copies of the assignment for every studentObviously, Google Classroom can be a useful tool for 1:1 and BYOD settings, where every student is able to access class content on his/her device, and receive real-time feedback from their teacher.

This article is about how someone could use Google Classroom (along with other incorporated features such as Drive, Docs, etc.) in their practice. Google Classroom is first introduced as a free tool where students and teachers can safely communicate with each other.
The first use listed for Google Classroom is that of making a paperless classroom. With Google Classroom, the teacher can make and give out assignments, communicate with students individually or in groups, provide feedback on assignments, send announcements and much more. By utilizing these time-saving features, it helps create more time that can be dedicated to learning. This is mostly applicable in a 1:1 device scenario.
The next use was that of a flipped classroom. The teacher can load all the content on the "classroom" and students will view it at home. Students can then also post questions if they didn't understand something.
The third suggestion was using it for professional development. Instead of loading content for students, load content for the professional development topic. Teachers can also carry on a discussion about the topic. Since they are using Google Classroom, they will automatically have the relevant PD information saved in their Google Drive account. -

Google’s advance in the education field has brought to schools around the globe affordable devices and effortless access to educational content. Google’s latest solution for learning is called Google Classroom. This article specifically talks about the ways that google classroom is opening doors in the classroom with technology. It discuses how google classroom is integrating all of the google apps, things that my school (and my classroom) already use regularly. The part that of particular import for me was when the article stated " it provides teachers and students with a safe environment to communicate with each other and exchange ideas and comments on educational content." Perfect! This is exactly what I am looking for. I think this resource will definitely help me as I am working with google classroom in case I have any questions during the set up and management.
