"One of the essential parts of the digital citizenship I have been long talking about in this blog is about digital footprints. Students need to know that whatever they do or create online leaves behind a trail or digital breadcrumbs that others can trace. This "others" can be anyone from prospective employers, to college admission boards, anything you do online should be vetted by a critical lens and if "you don't want your parents to know about it then better not do it"." There are also a few things you can do to limit some damage.

This post is about how to remove your digital footprint. This could be taken as teaching students to be sneaky so their parents don't know what they are doing. But I think it is a good topic in the fact that the more accessible online the more chances of being a victim of a cyber crime as well as some employers and colleges look prior to hiring or accepting.
It is also a useful for making sure your own digital footprint is small. -

Interesting to think about as we add more tech into our program and the students' lives. Managing privacy is key, but not always easy...
