Having enrolled my 8 year old in a private, Episcopal school for the last few years, and had the experience of seeing him survive but not thrive in two public schools in two different districts, I have to agree there are savage inequities in play.

TCEA 2008: Notes on Anita Givens' Presentation
I was listening to a presentation by Anita Givens at TCEA 2008--via podcast since I didn't attend TCEA 2008 this year--and ran out of time, cleaned my desktop, archived this blog entry in my DRAFT folder, and this is all I got out of what I listened to in the presentation. Unbelievable.
Yet, maybe these 3 points are all I needed to hear.
