mindywebsterAfter extensive research I think I have found one of the most useful ipad apps. It's called Chirp and it's a cool way for students to share information using sound. Chirp 'sings' information from one iPhone to another. This allows students to share photos, links, notes and more from their built-in iPhone speaker. The app allows for quick and easy sharing between people in the same place. Unlike Bluetooth, Chirp doesn’t require users to pair devices and unlike with email, they don’t need to type in anyone’s address. They simply press the big yellow “Chirp” button, and anyone running the app can “hear” the data. I think that when doing class research this could be a useful way for kids to interact and share. I would use it to do group projects, class discussions (so students can cite their sources and things of that nature. It could also be useful for teachers meetings to disseminate memos and as a teacher giving students the URL to a helpful Web site.
