新闻发布会上，涂文涛没有公布因地震死伤师生的数据，《财经》记者就此提出疑问。早在5月24日，国务院新闻办举办的汶川地震灾害和抗震救灾情况第十四次发布会上，国新办新闻局副局长鲁广锦面对媒体提问死伤学生数据时曾答复说，数字正在统计当中，“有了结果，我们会及时公布的。”
