Health professionals and people with a health-related degree (at first or upper second class or Masters) are invited to apply for a three year PhD studentship, starting in September or October 2006. You will receive an annual tax-free stipend in the range &pounf; 12,000 to &pounf; 13,000, with increases in years 2 and 3, plus tuition fees and an annual research expenses allowance. You will be able to undertake some paid employment by mutual agreement. The competition is open to non-EU citizens but the studentship will only pay course fees at the EU rate – the balance is payable by the student in these cases.
