One of the fundamental shifts in contemporary cinema production over the past decade has been the breakdown of divisions and segmentations between what has traditionally been termed in triumvirate - Pre, Production and Post. But when we have a modern environment where cinematographers do half their job from a
computer in post; where CGI visualization has become a common pre-production technique prior to shooting; where even lighting, exposure and white-balance can all be post production choices instead of on-set decisions, we have a fundamental cross-pollination and breakdown of traditional divisions. The long-standing linear hierarchy is broken and production is now about 'workflow'; not a common process to the medium but a creative roadmap developed for the specifics of the individual production at hand.
