ckrippaeFive minute movies support almost every different subject in the K-2 classroom! This resource supports a myriad of different learners. For ELL students, consider launching new units or lesson series using one of the videos to provide visual support with new vocabulary and concepts. For students who struggle with reading, Brain Pop Jr videos provide another way to access content-related information.

ataylor22Brainpop Jr. is used very often in my classroom. This site breaks down academic lessons and stories so that elementary age children gain a better understanding. We use this for many things such as teaching math skills, reading skills, historical events like Christopher Columbus, etc. There are 2 main characters which is a little girl and her robot friend Mobi. All of the students are very familiar with the theme song and thoroughly enjoy learning from their explanation videos. It also gives you the option of giving quizes; easy, medium, and hard online or printable. This site is a site that you have to pay and subscribe for but often times districts will approve and pay for them to be utilized in the classroom.

kelseykreiserBrainPOP Jr. is a great resource to use when creating lesson plans. The videos are a good way to gain students attention and they are also a great way to introduce a new topic to students. In the classroom I would use the quizzes to make sure the students understood the information and were able to follow along with the video.

educalexandrabowThis is a site that allows the students to choose a subject area. From there they will have sub categories and can choose to watch videos or read small excerpts. It would be a great "center" to use for children when we are switching centers.

cwadingtProvides children with movies, quizzes, tutorials, and much more to engage them in their learning. Like Brainpop but for younger kids. This tool is especially useful for the enhancement of a younger child's learning. The site allows children to explore and learn about various topics that pertain to their own interest. The site also serves as a remarkable tool for teachers, proving ideas of an effective, efficient way to teach a given topic.
