michelle linsdellAccording to Sperry-Smith (2009, p.52) "measurement involves assigning numbers of units to physical quantities (such as length, height, weight and volume) or to nonphysical quantities (such as time, temperature or money). Physical quantities such as the length of table may be measured by repeated application of the unit directly on the object. This process is called iteration. Non-physical quantities such as time use an indirect method."This bookmarked activity is for children to learn how to measure and calculate physical quantities, area and perimeter. This is an activity where both area and perimeter are thoroughly explained separately. So as a class they could do the activities on different days so they can fully understand the concept without being overloaded with information.
