  There is but one issue in the 2008 election. The economy. Or more to the point, the economic meltdown. Whoever wins this debate will win the election. Or perhaps more accurately, whoever loses this debate will lose the election. Period.

  • Bush has actually been on the right side of the energy production debate and the Fannie Mae-Freddie Mac regulation debate all along.
  • McCain believes the Dems' bull**** about America wanting bipartisanship above all, and mistakenly thinks he can win by being nice. He constantly gets rolled, but he thinks it's a badge of honor.
  • does anyone else find the timing of this mess just a little convenient ? Create a crisis, offer a socialist solution that the public wouldn't normally accept, ratchet another click or two towards the left. Repeat as necessary until democracy is dead.
  • The dems made this mess by forcing socialism into lending practices.
