AIM CenterBSSD's OpenContent site now has over 10,100 pages.
Contributions are coming from teachers, administrators, outside visitors and students! Since the DART system links to OpenContent wiki pages about each student's identified highest need standards, we have seen teachers begin to encourage student content creation as an instructional outcome. Students can be active collaborators in creating the resources that others use to teach our curriculum. -

Ben WilkoffAs you know, we have been trying for years to figure out a way to share all the terrific things that are going on in our classrooms and we think that using the wiki system for collaborative curriculum development is the best way to get that job done.

Manuela WagnerTerrific example of how an Alaskan school district uses wiki to collaboratively create curriculum and share content-based resources.
-
The OpenContent Initiative is an effort to develop a comprehensive standards-based curriculum, and a set of supporting content resources. This collaborative curriculum development system utilizes "wiki" technology which allows everyone to read, edit, and participate directly in a truly open education community.
-
BSSD's OpenContent site now has over 10,100 pages, and is growing rapidly (see statistics). In fact, an average of between 500 - 1100 pages per day were edited or added during the recent CASC meetings.
Contributions are coming from teachers, administrators, outside visitors and students!
