Savings percentages: We looked at the average selling price on eBay for the keywords during a recent 15-day period. We compared the average selling price on eBay to current items on the site and calculated the difference to show savings percentage. Because this is based on average eBay selling price, the actual price difference may vary. Shipping and handling charges not included. No representation is made that any particular item will be available at any particular price. All items subject to availability.

I got the Soft Star, "Design Your Own," Smooth Leather Moccasins. I also purchased the waterproofing from Soft Star, which I have now applied several times, just to make sure they are as water resistant as possible. I do think the waterproofing was a good buy, even though it was expensive ($14). I used the mocs in freezing rain for a trail run the other day and my feet were toasty despite the pelting sleet and icy slush. I got the Moccasins with the "T-Rex" sole (which they also refer to as "Grippy Roo" sole) They offer a Vibram sole, but it is thicker and less flexible. Finally, the reason I used the "Design Your Own" option was to get a lace put into the moc instead of their standard elastic. I called them and asked their opinions about what to order based on my intended use for trail running and they suggested the laces, even though it's not shown anywhere on their website. You have to ask for laces in the special instructions section of the online order form. With the lace, I can tie the mocs pretty tightly around my lower ankle, reducing slippage of the foot inside the moc while running. I don't wear socks unless it is really, really cold, in which case I have resorted to a pair of really thin cross country ski boot liner socks. I can feel the ground nicely, even with the socks. It's not as good as barefoot--but what is?
