Gosia GawronTrackStar (www.trackstar.4teachers.org), similarly to WebQuest, “allows [a teacher] to collect a series of websites and annotate them so that students follow the online journey” – creating “a digital version of a vocabulary field trip” (Dalton & Grisham 310). The idea behind this activity is for students to research certain topic, such as “weather in Alaska,” by visiting websites selected by their instructor (310). In the process, they become immersed in the new specialized and academic vocabulary through being exposed to them in various contexts (310).
I read about this tool in Dalton & Grisham’s article, "eVoc Strategies: 10 Ways to Use Technology to Build Vocabulary", which I highly recommend to any teacher.
