Randi MerrittThis is an interesting way to get students to write a story. I'm sure it would be very challenging for most students!

Amber ShoapAs a future high school english teacher, this website it awesome. It is extremely important to get students writing, and this will allow students to take even 3 minutes to write about one word. That is great because it helps the teacher and student both lead into class.

Miguel PerezOne Word is a simple writing prompt generator. The way it works is the user clicks "go" on the One Word homepage and they are presented with one word. Users then have sixty seconds to write in the text box whatever comes to their minds regarding that word. The idea is not so much to write definitions of the words, but rather it is to write sentences using the word.

Oneword is a quick, simple-to-use writing prompt generator. Each day on the website, one randomly generated word appears at the top of the screen. You have sixty seconds to write about it. Click "Go" and the page will load with the cursor in place. Don't pause to think; just start writing whatever that particular word inspires, and keep your fingers typing, (or pen moving), until time is up.

You go to the website (www.oneword.com) and click the Go button. It will take you to a new page where you will see a word at the top. You then have 1 minute to write about that word. That’s it! Simple, focused and very pretty. It’s seems pretty simple (and it is) but there are a lot more features to learn about.
