Nine areas have been given the go-ahead to become "healthy towns" under a plan by ministers to combat obesity.Dudley, Halifax, Sheffield, Tower Hamlets in London, Thetford in Norfolk, Middlesbrough, Manchester, Tewkesbury and Portsmouth will share a £30m pot.
