A Dubai marketing firm has surveyed Muslim attitudes and practices regarding Ramadan, with some interesting results -- though I'm skeptical about some of the numbers.
62% say non-Muslims living in Arab countries should't eat or drinking publicly during Ramadan.
This figure would probably alarm Westerners, but it also seems kind of like common courtesy to me. One probably shouldn't eat during the day out on the street when everyone around you is fasting.
