Web 2.0 and Education "The idea is to someway end the separation between learning and living " - Podcast #5: Talking with Stephen Downes about Online Learning and Web 2.0 (Rwall's Blog: August 23, 2005) Thanks to recent ICT developments, there are now available a host of new web services and applications generally categorised as elements of Web 2.0 , most of which seem to have interesting impications for the organisation of educational resources and the delivery of learning. In previous issues, we have considered some early manifestations of Web 2.0 phenomena such as weblogs and RSS - we'll revisit these some time soon; more recent entries onto the Web 2.0 stage such as podcasts and wikis will also warrant individual attention. However, in this edition of WWWTools for Education we'll try to fill in the background with a broad sweep across the Web 2.0 field and what it may offer in educational practice.
