I'm far more interested in the Lightning extension, which adds the Calendar as a plugin for Thunderbird.
In corporate settings, Outlook is the 800lb gorilla, and what TBird must compete with. TBird is a splendid email client, but half the reason companies use Outlook is the integrated calendar/scheduler, and until TBird can match that, it hasn't a prayer of competing.
At my former employer, we lived in Outlook, and while I pushed open source solutions and got a couple adopted, I couldn't recommend TBird over Outlook. Lightning is a big step in that direction.

Fraser SmithComputers make us more productive. Yeah, right. Lifehacker recommends the software downloads and web sites that actually save time. Don't live to geek; geek to live.
