mmeha405A good interactive website for students to use to learn more about Poe. I think it will make a good webquest to learn the background information of Poe instead of me lecturing about it.

soberleThe Literature, Life, and Times of Edgar Allan Poe... In Baltimore and Beyond
What makes a good writer great? Practice, patience, persistence, and a bit of luck all contribute to a writer's skill.
But great writers stand apart from all others. Their work is marked by an indefinable something. James Dickey refers to it as the ability to listen to the celestial wireless. Others call it talent or creative genius or simply the "X" factor. Whatever it is, great writers have it.
Edgar Allan Poe is one of these special people.

Dan PatrylakDesigned by Maryland Public Television, the Maryland Historical Society, and the Enoch Pratt Free Library, few websites are more interactive than this. It explores the importance of speech by letting students control how a story is read allowed. It analyzes the significance of images by allowing students to choose the best picture to accompany stanzas of the raven. Timelines, movies, articles, and more, there is not a more complete website for the teaching of Edgar Allen Poe.
