インドのHindustan Timesの記事によると、GoogleはGmailのオフライン版を準備中ということだ。
この記事は、Googleはすでにオフライン・クライアントのデザインを済ませており、現在（意外ではないが）Google Gearsの上でテスト中だとしている。GoogleはGoogleReadeのオフライン版を Gearsのプラグインですでに提供している。他社でGearsをプラットフォームに採用した例としてはZohoなどがある。
