- Drag the JavaHotPot6 folder to the Applications directory on your computer.
- Open the folder and double-click the JavaHotPotatoes6 application icon.
- Trash the javahotpot61.zip file.
When you first start up Hot Potatoes, it will ask you for your user name. This name is stored on your computer, and not sent to anyone; it will be inserted into your exercises to identify you as the author. You must provide a user name before you can use all the features of Hot Potatoes.

This resource would be useful because students could use it when creating their own materials. I often do a midterm project where students work in groups to summarize a chapters and they have to create activities to help the rest of the class review. This would be a great resource for that. I don't think this really support constructivist learning if it is used in the way that I stated. I don't think that it could be used in PBL or inquiry-based learning because it is more of a tool that is used to create documents to review information.quiz software education tools assessment e-learning web2.0 teaching

Hot Potatoes was created by the Research and Development team at the University of Victoria Humanities Computing and Media Centre. Commercial aspects of the software are handled by Half-Baked Software Inc. Hot Potatoes has been freeware since October 2009.
Hot Potatoes was first released in version 2.0 in September 1998, at the EuroCALL conference in Leuven, Belgium. -
