Reima OrvastoWhat's a Yahoo! Group
It's where people with a shared interest meet, get to know each other, and stay informed. Your group gives you instant access to:
- Shared message archives
- Photos and photo albums
- Group event calendars
- Member polls and shared links
And best of all, it's free. -

Deb Kaczmarimportant that you have a newsletter (or mailing list). Newsletters work wonders for sites that use them well. Give an incentive and a reason for someone to join your newsletter. People are not willing to just hand over their email address with no idea what they will be getting in return. The newsletter should always carry relevant, useful content, nut just advertising. As long as it is useful, people will love it and pass it on to several friends. Again, remember to actively ask them to pass it on. If you don't ask them to pass it on, even if they are willing to do so, they may just forget or not even think about it. To start a newsletter, all you need is a mailing list server.

Leona TYahoo! Groups is one of the world’s largest collections of online discussion boards. The term Groups refers to an Internet communication tool which is a hybrid between an electronic mailing list and a threaded Internet forum, in other words, Group messages can be read and posted by e-mail or on the Group homepage like a web forum. In addition, members can choose whether to receive individual, daily digest or Special Delivery e-mails, or simply read Group posts on the Group’s web site. Groups can be created with public or member-only access. Some Groups are simply announcement bulletin boards, to which only the Group moderators can post, while others are discussion forums. The variations of Yahoo Groups are virtually endless.
