Freelancers are excellent at producing great work if an assignment takes less than a day to complete. But many freelancers (not all) are also notoriously bad at completing projects that take several days or more to complete.
A cool little guide for simplified project management. In my MBA program we just went through a project management class. The class and this article both suggest that the most important part of project management is difining the goals and outcomes and then communicating the progress.
