Brittany Van KootenForvo is a word pronunciation dictionary for thousands of different languages. Forvo is an app that available on all smartphones and tables for 3 dollars. Along with pronouncing words, Forvo will give you the translation of each word as well. I think this is a wonderful app that can be used with ELL students, as well as when students are learning about languages. Its important when learning a new language that students are hearing how words the words are correctly pronounced and this app does that for you. It is very user friendly and I think students would enjoy exploring with it.

Ryan CorcoranThis is a great website for language classes. It features real people (preferably native speakers) pronouncing words in many different languages. Want to hear how a native French speaker says "Foie Gras"? Look no further! No definitions are included (even a link to one would be better than nothing...). Japanese words are in Kanji and/or Katakana/Hiragana, tough for beginning Japanese students who rely on Romaji to find words. Pronunciations are voted on by users, and you can see the speaker's location on a map (helpful for regional dialects).
