Assignment 4:
This is a great article on typography. It covers History of Typography, Scope, Legibility, Evolution of Typography, Text Typography and Display Typography. I found the article on Wikipedia and I found it very informative opposed to many other articles that I found around the net which were short and brief. This article has much more depth. The information is credible because Wikipedia is a credible website, especially on more popular subjects because if any false information is edited into an article, moderators will remove the false info. It is also credible because all of the references are listed at the bottom of the article along with links. -

Alan November"Typography (from the Greek words τύπος(typos) = form and γραφή(graphy) = writing) is the art and technique of arranging type, type design, and modifying type glyphs. Type glyphs are created and modified using a variety of illustration techniques. The arrangement of type involves the selection of typefaces, point size, line length, leading (line spacing), adjusting the spaces between groups of letters (tracking) and adjusting the space between pairs of letters (kerning).[1]
Typography is performed by typesetters, compositors, typographers, graphic designers, art directors, comic book artists, graffiti artists, and clerical workers. Until the Digital Age, typography was a specialized occupation. Digitization opened up typography to new generations of visual designers and lay users." -
