For many, they have been turned off by the performances of contemporary classical music. This style of music, though it incorporates many concepts of more traditional classical music, is difficult to understand and it no always pleasing to listen to. As with any art form however, there are people in the world that enjoy this kind of music. Instead of blaming the plummet of ticket sales on contemporary classical music, it is better to say that the two genres (modern versus traditional classical music) are not being properly marketed.
