Unix Toolbox: In my opinion, the missing manual for #Linux. A 60 pages booklet dense with practical examples, variations for Linux/BSD/OSX worth bookmarking/printing. I learned a lot! #Linux #MustRead https://t.co/Jn0C87v2Qs https://t.co/zr8ofmhutU -

Nmaphttp://insecure.org/nmap/ is a port scanner with OS detection, it is usually installed on most distributions and is also available for Windows. [...] Running: FreeBSD 5.X Uptime 33.120 days (since Fri Aug 31 11:41:04 2007)
Other non standard but useful tools arehping(www.hping.org) an IP packet assembler/analyzer andfping(fping.sourceforge.net). fping can check multiple hosts in a round-robin fashion.
