  Main benefit I see is that it can hold "Posts" for moderation like comments are currently held. So teachers don't have to worry about inappropriate content getting out there, but students can post robust content.

  this is to be noted, the K-12 test is using other "plugins" for the buddypress to become secured...

  • As a reference, here are the main plugins that we used:

    
    
    • WPMU LDAP for authentication (We have over 18,000 students and several thousand staff members who all have access)
    • Site-wide Privacy Settings
    • Community Blogs for BuddyPress
    • Content Monitoring (Finds keywords and alerts site admin of bad content from blogs)
