Jen KeelerThis is a wonderful site to use to level books in your classroom library or to look up a level of a book that a student is reading. This site give you a plot summary, reading level, genre, and interest level. This is useful if you are starting to implement balanced literacy and/or Fountas and Pinnell leveling.

Lindsey RuthYour post mentioned that your teachers would find books that were suited for your level of reading. A teacher at my sons school gave me two websites that help with finding books that vary in comprehension level as well as appropriateness for age. She explained that many students who can read at a fourth grade level or beyond in first grade are not socially/mentally ready for the material that is being discussed in many of those books. It puts teachers in a weird spot trying to find suitable material for advanced readers.

Sara KahlThis Book Wizard was the best tool when I was trying to organize my classroom library. It provides resources to help you create reading lists, level books, and find similar books and different reading levels. Organizing my classroom library would not have been as easy of a process without this resource.
