In my material on the
Woodward family I have a paper on "The Woodwards of
Fairfield County,
South Carolina". It is much too long to copy here but with all its spelling idiocyncrasies:
"Jemime Collons, wife of Thomas II died before the Revolution, and Thomas married the widow Elizabeth
Stokes May, who had May children. She had in her veins Indian blood (see children listed at end of paper). A grandson by he scond wife, Thomas
Simpson Woodward, admired and lived with the Indians a while and wrote a book called "Reminiscences of the
Creek and Muscogee Indians" in which he tells the names of the husbands of his aunts-all having fought in the Revolution." The article is interesting and more or less factual. The timing would be about right for you.
If this is of interest to you, I would be happy to send you copies of my materials. I
haven't put it into proper form yet, just the raw materials. My email address is
richrex@delanet.com. Send me your address and I'll get the papers in the mail.
