You have a number of causes here (schoolwork, game design etc). Which is the main one? Describe the link from this to gaming addiction.

Add Sticky NoteThe fact that video games allow people to escape reality makes them addictive. Video games allow people to get away from certain things that cause them stress such as schoolwork. ?I?d rather play Half-Life or Goldeneye than do my physics. School is the same everyday. Video games are fun no matter when you play them? (Personal Interview). For many students, school can be seen as a source of stress because of the intense workload they are faced with daily. Video games direct their minds away from education and veer them towards the virtual world.

Add Sticky NoteLack of responsibility causes teenagers to be irresponsible, which causes them to exceed their maximum play time, which finally causes their addicition to computer games.
-
- Evidence?
-
-
Add Sticky NoteThe main cause of gaming addiction is not the lack of disipline.
-
- How about rebutting his/ her reason abnd evidence (using the STAR criteria).
-
-
Add Sticky Noteyou would not want to feel left out. Hence, this would cause those who were previously not playing the game, to play, so that they would not feel left out and have a common topic to dicuss about.
-
- How does having a common topic to discuss contribute to gaming addiction? How about evidence?
-
-
Add Sticky NoteIt is not the most significant cause that video games allow people to escape from reality makes them addictive.
-
How about saying what is the weakness in linking video games allowing escapism to gaming addiction?
-

Add Sticky Note
it is true that peer pressure will play a role. however, if a teenager has self-disipline and is reponsible, i believe that they will not follow his or her friends and get addicted to the games. =)
therefore, it is a matter of self control and disipline, not peer pressure
-
- Ecellent rebuttal:) You have shown admirable openness to concede that peer pressure will play a part but you have tried, by way of logic, to persuade that self-discipline is a sufficient cause.
-
-
Add Sticky NoteYou cannot blame the game for the gaming addicition in teenagers."In reality, mistakes done cannot be undone but in games, it can be "renewed". "this is like self-deception.The lack of values should be blame instead.
-
- What does self-deception have to do with the lack of values?
-
-
Add Sticky Notewas not relevant to exceeding the maximum play time from your first claim
-
- Huh????? Please clarify.

Add Sticky NotePeople enjoy challenges that they know can be conquered. Successfully completing a computer game gives the user a sense of accomplishment regardless of the difficulty. ?Nothing beats smashing up a game. It?s the challenge that keeps you going. It feels good to win, especially against your friend? (Personal Interview). Many games offer adjustable degrees of difficulty for people to conquer. This keeps the person playing repeatedly even after he or she has completed the game the first time.<!--operation--><!--my--><!--operation--><!--comments--><!--h item--><!--h item-->
Furthermore, video games are addictive in that they present a world where mistakes can be undone. Inside a video game world, nothing is real. Rules that govern reality such as death or time can be broken. If the user?s character is defeated during game play, the character can start over. ?No one?s perfect. I always die in Diablo. All I have to do is reset the game and hopefully this time, I won?t make the same mistake again? (Personal Interview). After a player is beaten by the game, the player can choose to redo the same journey until he or she gets it right. A person can explore a virtual world over and over which ultimately causes addiction.-
- Much of this lot here explains the reason for something being the cause of gaming addiction. Post this under reason instead (but please summarise it!)
