kelly_nguyen6210Authority: It is a Smithsonian featured website and they are very creditable.
Accuracy: They update it regularly with new exhibits that they present. But it is informational for both students and teachers.
Objective: Very simple and very easy to maneuver.
Currency: Very current as they do update the information when a new exhibit is displayed. -

Imagine you're setting a table with your finest glassware, and finding the best placement for each fragile and meaningful piece. Now imagine that some of this glassware dates back to the 1770s. And now imagine that your tabletop is plastered to a wall, with gravity working against you.

Kelsey KronawitterThrough incomparable collections, rigorous research, and dynamic public outreach, we explore the infinite richness and complexity of American history. We help people understand the past in order to make sense of the present and shape a more humane future.
The National Museum of American History collects and preserves more than 3 million artifacts—all true national treasures. We take care of everything from the original Star-Spangled Banner and Abraham Lincoln’s top hat to Dizzy Gillespie’s angled trumpet and Dorothy’s ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz. Our collections form a fascinating mosaic of American life and comprise the greatest single collection of American history. -

Liz TraversoThis website is run by the Smithsonian, and has information about the museum and its collections. It also has a link for educators that gives access to lessons plans, resources, and links to other resources. In addition, it has a blog that has various information relating history with current events and real people. Lastly, there is a “This Day in History” feature that gives interesting little events that happened on the current day, but in the past.

Mary Margaret SmithThis is the Smithsonian National Museum of American History's website. In addition to information about the museum itself in DC (which would be useful for a potential field trip), there are education resources for history teachers broken down by grade/age level and subject. This would be very helpful with lesson plans, particularly in providing original materials (such a older images).
